Rev. Patricia Strong- Fargas, Senior Pastor

Rev. Patricia Strong-Fargas was born in Jacksonville, Texas to God-fearing and loving parents.  She is the mother of two beautiful daughters (Nikki and Kristin) and three energetic grandchildren (Amber, Nikholas and Skyler).  She was the First Lady of the late Dr. J. P. Strong at New Providence Baptist Church for many years.  Rev. Fargas answered a higher caller when she was licensed and ordained at Holy Chapel MBC under the leadership of Rev. George Thomas.  She organized and founded New Wave Christian Fellowship Church in year 2008.  She completed a merger with Mt. Salem Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Ollie German and New Wave Fellowship Church under her leadership to become a stronger bond of effective evangelism in South Los Angeles.  Rev. Patricia Strong-Fargas became the Senior Pastor of Mt. Salem-New Wave Christian Fellowship Church.

Rev. Fargas is a graduate of California State Dominguez Hills where she majored in Psychology.  Completed Her Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies at Bible Believers College & Seminary.  Her present occupation is Pastor and Community Liaison for 1st District of LAUSD. Her community efforts consist of Conference/Retreat Speaker, National Convention Speaker/Teacher, Sheriff Clergy, Church chairman for the ASESLA Movement (a group that advocate for Public Schools - her voice is being heard on 90.7 FM on Beautiful Struggle Program) and Youth Mentoring.

After the tragic death of her daughter Kristin, in the latter part of 2002, she accepted her call to fight against hazing in sororities, fraternities or any other organizations.  She organized a non-profit organization called Mother’s Against Hazing.  She has appeared on many television programs such as Dr. Phil, John Walsh Show, CNN and local television news stations to address hazing activities.  Her call has been in many local newspapers and national magazines such as Essence, People, Jet and Ebony.  On December 1, 2007 on E-Entertainment, Rev. Fargas and others presented a documentary on the dangers of hazing. She continues to fight for parents who have lost their children in some tragic incident.

Her hobby of writing Christian plays have developed into the heart provoking production, play called “YES” and a new production called “Confession” coming to a Stage in the future.  She is continually writing a book call “Chosen For A Reason”, to describe her daughter’s experience and what she learned how to cope with a “Broken Heart”. 

Rev. Fargas founded the New Wave Christian Fellowship Church in 2009, for the purpose of ministering to the students and parents of New Wave Academy.  In September, 2012, under the supervision of Rev. George Thomas, Pastor of Holy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Salem Missionary Baptist Church  and New Wave Christian Fellowship Church merged and became Mt. Salem-New Wave Christian Fellowship Church.  Rev. Patricia Strong-Fargas as serves as Senior Pastor. 

Rev. Fargas loves to share and spread the word of God, to everyone that she meets.

Rev. Lenora Robbins

Reverend Robbins is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, and an anointed speaker and teacher.  
Reverend Lenora Robbins served as a member of the Faithful Central Bible Church, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer.  She was called to the ministry in 1999 where she continued her education and graduated as a licensed minister from the Ministerial Preparation Program under the teaching of Dr. Darrell Holmes.  

This woman of God is actively involved in several ministries and organizations.  She is the lead minister for the Union Rescue Mission, the Sisterhood of New Bethel Baptist Church, Sister in Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Sonia Dawson, and Mom’s in Touch.  She has served as a Champion Training teacher and a growth group leader, a member of Faithful Central Bereavement Team and of Yana, a Single Parent Ministry.  In 2009, Lenora became a part of Child Evangelism Fellowship, where she started a bible class in the public school system, called the Good News Club.  

Rev. Robbins graduated from Bethany Bible College, continuing to further her education with the knowledge of God. She was ordained in 2015 at the Faithful Central Bible Church.  

Rev. Robbins speaks at annual woman’s day services and bible conferences throughout the greater Los Angeles area.  She desires for holiness and excellence in the Kingdom of God.  Lenora always believed in the power of prayer and she also believes that through the strength of Christ everything is achievable.

Rev. Thelma Williams

Reverend Thelma Williams was born in Memphis, TN, the youngest of three children to loving parents.  When she was five years old, she relocated to Los Angeles, CA, with her family.  Upon their arrival to Los Angeles, the family joined Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and it was during this time that Rev. Williams developed a reputation as a singer with a voice like no other.  The family later joined the Christian Light Baptist Church.

Rev. Williams attended schools in the greater Los Angeles area and graduated from Fremont High School.  She joined the Gethsemane Baptist Church (later to become the Gethsemane Christian Love Baptist Church) in its infancy, under the pastorate of the late Reverend Charles Jackson.  She became the choir director and served in that capacity for nearly thirty years.  

Reverend Thelma Williams officially joined the Mt. Salem Missionary Baptist Church in 1988, under the pastorate of Reverend Ollie German, where she has served faithfully in many capacities.  She has served as a Sunday School teacher, the Monday Night Bible Study teacher, and the Co-Founder of and Counselor to the young women’s support group.  She also served as a member of the Inspirational Choir and the Mission.  She served as a watchful, prayerful armor-bearer for the Pastor and First Lady.  

In 1995, Thelma announced her call to the ministry and stood to deliver her first public message in April of that same year.  A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, she is yet about her Father’s business, taking the Word to the world whenever the opportunity arises.
